NL1271
Cooling water guard

  • sensor for flow rate and temperature control of cooling  liquids
  • connect an extern Pt100-temperature sensor as an alternative choice
  • security shutdown if temperature rise or cooling water defiency happens
  • clear display for temperature and cooling water passage
  • floating contact for extern error messages
  • robust casing for placing  on a table
  • all-pole breaking

How to use

This device can be used additional or added later on, to control temperature and the flow rate of cooling liquids.
To use also in apparatus and equipments, which are not under continuously supervision.

A solenoid valve controls the cooling water flow rate. It  must be screwed to a water tap.
The sensor for flow rate and temperature control of cooling  liquids will be inserted in the cooling water flow this way.
The heating of the apparatus/ equipment (heating bath, destillation, ..) will be supplied with current from the NL1271 (apparatus current-connection via plug-in at the NL1271).
The appartus will be guarded against cooling water leackage, defiency, or bursted tubes, unexpected temperature rise of the cooling liquid, ...
A floating switch contact (24V/1A) can be used for external error messages.

Function

The limit-values for flow rate and temperature can be in the range of 2 ... 99l/h and  0 ... 99°C.
The current values will be shown on a display, this way it is easy to check if they are still in the range of the limit values.
Four LEDs do inform about the status of the connections (switching state), connected consumers and limit-alarms.
If the current values will come close to the limit values an optical and acustic alarm will occur. Presetted limit values are 3l/h and 3K.
If this will happen the solenoid valve will shut down the water supply, also
the current (load) plug-in will be shutdown.
If the temperature limit value will be reached, only the plug-in will be shutdown, the solenoid valve will stays open.
After shutdown the reset button must be pressed to restart the NL1271.

As an optionally feature an interface for the NL1271 can be used for an easy documentation on the computer.
